The Children’s Waiting Room provides free, short-term, drop-off supervised care for a limited amount of children from infant to age 12, of persons with business in the Judicial Center. During this time, children will not be accepted for persons who have business at the Kane County Courthouse (Third Street), Traffic Court, or at the Jail.
Strict protocols must be followed, including:
- Children will have their temperatures taken before they are permitted entrance. No child will be granted entry with a temperature at 100.0 degrees or above. Health questions must be answered including questions regarding Covid-19 exposure. Children will not be accepted that exhibit any symptoms of illness, including but not limited to cough, congestion, runny nose and/or watery eyes. If a child starts exhibiting symptoms of illness during the time in the Children’s Waiting Room, a parent will be paged. The child may be asked to wear a mask until the parent arrives to pick them up.
- Children will not be allowed to enter with any type of soiled clothes. It is highly recommended that the parent/guardian brings a change of clothes for each child.
- Feeding bottles must be made in advance and given to staff.
- Electronic devices are not permitted in the Waiting Room.
